Food Product Innovation Contest 2015 in CALABARZON

With the goal of promoting innovative thinking among students and professionals in developing emergency food products with the application of the principles of food science and technology, the Department of Science and Technology Region IV-A (DOST IV-A) is holding Food Product Innovation Contest 2015!

The contest is open to all students and research professionals from State Universities and Colleges, private Higher Education Institutions and government research institutions in the CALABARZON region.

It also aims to address the requirements of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) in providing speedy/employable, appropriate, nutritious and affordable food relief to affected populations during disasters or calamities.

Important Dates:

Submission of Entry Form: October 14, 2015
Pre-judging and selection of finalists: October 15-27, 2015
Notification of the finalists: October 28, 2015
Oral and final product presentation and product tasting session: November 11, 2015
Awarding of winners: November 18, 2015


Professional Category
1st Place: PhP 50,000.00 (plus project fund worth PhP 200,000.00)*
2nd Place: PhP 30,000.00
3rd Place: PhP 15,000.00

Student Category
1st Place: PhP 30,000.00
2nd Place: PhP 20,000.00
3rd Place: PhP 10,000.00

* Project funds will be awarded should the winner decide to continue the project
